Off-season Major Trades & Acquisitions:
Las Vegas Aces: In a significant move, the Aces traded longtime star Kelsey Plum to acquire Jewell Loyd, aiming to bolster their scoring and experience. Additionally, they secured Dana Evans from the Chicago Sky in exchange for the 16th and 22nd picks in the 2025 draft.
Connecticut Sun: The Sun traded DiJonai Carrington to the Dallas Wings, moving up from No. 12 to No. 8 in the draft. They also acquired Natasha Cloud from the Phoenix Mercury, enhancing their backcourt depth.
Washington Mystics: The Mystics traded Ariel Atkins to the Chicago Sky in exchange for the No. 3 pick in the 2025 draft and additional future picks. They used the No. 3 pick to select Sonia Citron from Notre Dame.
Notable Waivers & Roster Cuts Since The Draft
Indiana Fever: After their first preseason game, the Fever waived guard Bree Hall and forward Jillian Alleyne. Hall, a two-time NCAA champion, was the 20th overall pick in the 2025 draft
Golden State Valkyries: The expansion team made headlines by waiving Shyanne Sellers, the 17th overall pick, before their first preseason game. This move sparked debate over the prioritization of international talent over recent NCAA players.
Atlanta Dream: The Dream claimed Shyanne Sellers off waivers, effectively acquiring a first-round talent without a trade. They also waived forward DeYona Gaston shortly after signing her.
New York Liberty: The Liberty waived forward Kaitlyn Davis as part of their roster adjustments.
